
Established in 1859 by the Maharaja of Travancore, the Thiruvananthapuram Zoo (Trivandrum Zoo) is one of the oldest in Asia, spanning 55 acres of lush, naturalistic woodland in the city center. It prioritizes the conservation of Western Ghats species and features a diverse collection of indigenous and exotic animals.
