About Sri Guruvayoorappan Temple

Experience the serene ambience of Sri Guruvayoorappan Temple, located in Mutharasanallur within the Tiruchirapalli district of Tamil Nadu. Constructed with assistance from the highly revered Sri Krishna temple at Guruvayoor, Kerala, this temple serves as a precise replica.

It adheres strictly to the worship protocols found at its inspirational counterpart. The principal deity worshipped here is Sri Krishna; however, dedicated sanctuaries also exist for Ayyapan, Vinayaka, Karupannaswamy, Sankaracharya, and Shirdi Saibaba.

The architectural elegance of this temple is enhanced by a pond adorned with a twelve-pillared mandapam richly sculpted with various deities. Additionally, there exists a quaint four-pillared mandapam centrally located within it.

A notable feature of the south-western corner of this pond is the depiction of the Gajendra Moksha scene, featuring statues of Lord Vishnu alongside an elephant and a crocodile. Similarly captivating is the golden lotus situated in the pond, reminiscent of that in the Meenakshi Amman Temple at Madurai.

Intriguingly positioned near the pond’s entrance is a playful sculpture; it portrays Pillaiyar semi-reclining while engrossed in a book. With its sanctums reflecting Kerala-style architecture through detailed wooden craftsmanship and its mandapams showcasing traditional Dravidian design, this temple stands out as an architectural marvel.

Moreover, it is renowned for its meticulously conducted daily rituals & offerings, demonstrating unwavering dedication & devotion.
