The renowned Kanipakam Vinayaka Temple is located in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. Renowned for its sanctity, this temple was constructed by a Pandya king in the 11th century. The term "Kani" refers to a wetland, and "Pakam" denotes the flow of water through it. Adjacent to the temple flows the sacred Bahuda River, enriching the site's heritage.
Remarkably, the self-manifested Swayambu Vinayaka idol resides within the temple's well and is believed to be gradually growing. Currently, the idol's abdomen and knees are visible. Water from this revered well is distributed as 'theertham' to worshippers. The temple is also famous for a particular vow that has resolved numerous conflicts. Guided by remorse, individuals confess their transgressions after immersing themselves in the Bahuda River.
