The 15-day, 14-night Kerala Ayurvedic Detox Tour is for tourists travelling for health and healing.
The itinerary is formed around a peaceful retreat in Kerala. The resort is selected by Cholan tours for a nourishing, healing stay experience in tranquil surroundings, in nature’s lap.
The stays are clean and hygienic, and the staff is hospitable and polite. It has all the amenities and facilities required for a comfortable stay.
The Ayurveda treatment program is considered the ideal duration for deep detoxification, healing, and rejuvenation of the body and mind. Conducted under the supervision of experienced Ayurvedic doctors, this program follows a structured progression—starting with diagnosis and preparation, progressing to intensive detoxification, and concluding with rejuvenation and lifestyle correction. Each day’s therapies are customised according to the guest’s body constitution and health goals.
The 15-day travel itinerary, based in Kerala's ‘God’s own country’, is designed to provide you with a healing experience.
Upon arrival, you will be received by our representative at the Cochin Airport/Railway Station. Next, you will be transferred to the resort where the Ayurveda detox treatments will take place.
You will be welcomed with an ayurvedic drink. Freshen up and rest in the allocated room.
Afterwards, join the staff for an orientation of the place. Roam around the resort and soak in the peaceful surroundings, with a lush green garden.

The journey begins with a comprehensive consultation with the Ayurveda physician. The doctor evaluates the guest’s prakriti (body constitution), current imbalances, digestion, sleep patterns, and stress levels. Based on this assessment, a personalised
Panchakarma plan, diet chart, and daily routine are prescribed. The rest of the day is kept light to allow the body to settle into the healing environment.

Therapies begin with Abhyanga, a synchronised full-body oil massage using warm, medicated herbal oils. It is followed by Swedana (herbal steam therapy) to open the pores and stimulate circulation. These treatments soften tissues, loosen toxins, and prepare the body for deeper detoxification.

Day 4 onwards, the main treatment, Abhyanga, along with Podikizhi, is a therapeutic massage using warm herbal powders tied in cloth boluses. This treatment enhances metabolism, reduces stiffness, and helps mobilise toxins stored in deeper tissues.
Later, have dinner as per the prescribed diet, which supports digestive fire without burdening the system.

Day 5 is for internal Oleation through Snehapana, in which medicated ghee is taken internally in carefully measured doses. This internal oleation dissolves fat-soluble toxins and draws them toward the digestive tract. Physical activity is minimal, and the body is encouraged to rest and benefit from the therapy.

External treatments resume with Abhyanga, followed by Njavarakizhi, a unique Kerala therapy using medicinal rice cooked in milk and herbal decoctions. This deeply nourishing treatment strengthens muscles, nerves, and joints while maintaining the detox momentum.

Under strict medical supervision, Virechana therapy is administered to remove toxins from the liver, intestines, and digestive system. Day 7 is a key detoxification day that helps correct digestive disorders.
Purgation is especially helpful for females dealing with hormonal imbalances and chronic inflammation. The remainder of the day is dedicated to rest and hydration.

After back-to-back therapies, the body needs rest, so day 8 is to relax and prepare the body for the next step of treatment. After detox, the body enters a stabilisation phase.
Gentle massages, herbal baths, and a carefully structured diet help restore balance. This day allows the digestive system and energy levels to normalise before moving into rejuvenation therapies.

Powerful ayurvedic therapy combining a full body oil massage called Abhyanga in Ayurveda. A continuous, gentle stream of warm oil poured over the forehead, targeting the third eye area for deep relaxation.
Additionally, it helps balance the nervous system and relieve stress. It further nourishes the body, calms the mind, improves focus, and helps with sleep cycles, anxiety, and headaches. It works on the Vata dosha and reduces cortisol.

Takradhara uses medicated buttermilk, and Ksheeradhara uses medicated milk in the treatment. They are similar therapies. Takradhara helps with the pitta doshas in the body while ksheeradhara focuses on the vata dosha and on calming the soul.
Post treatment, you can take a bath and retire to your room to rest. In the afternoon, take the in-house lunch and rest. In the evening, take a walk or join a meditation session.

After waking up, join the morning meditation session. Next, freshen up and assemble for a Satvik breakfast. Post breakfast, the treatment for the day is Oil bath therapy.
Oil bath therapy, known as Abhyanga, should ideally be done early in the morning on an empty stomach, before a bath or shower. It is recommended to wait a while after eating, and the meal should be light and warm.

Wake up in the morning, have a light breakfast. Guests proceed to the therapy centre for an Abhyanga oil massage, followed by Kizhi therapy, both performed under a doctor's supervision. The body, already warmed and calm, responds better to medicated oils and herbal bolus treatments.

After the usual day starts with yoga meditation and a healthy breakfast, the focus now shifts to Rasayana therapies. It is done to rebuild vitality. Moreover, it works wonders to slow down the ageing process. Herbal formulations, restorative practices, nourishing massages, and stamina, and overall well-being.

On day 15 of the tour, Guests receive personalised guidance. It is regarding the post-therapy Ayurvedic diet, daily routine, yoga, pranayama, and stress management techniques for lifestyle detoxification.
The program concludes with a final evaluation in which progress is reviewed and post-treatment guidelines are provided.
