Itinerary

The Indian Odyssey tour by Deccan Odyssey offers a mix of adventure and relaxation as it traverses major tourist destinations in India, starting in Delhi and ending in Mumbai. You will board your train in Delhi, which will first take you to Sawai Madhopur for a game drive in Ranthambore National Park. Then visit Agra to explore the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, two of India's most visited tourist attractions. Your next stop will be Jaipur, where you will visit Amber Fort, the Hawa Mahal, the City Palace, and Jantar Mantar. Your next stop will be Udaipur, where you can take a ferry ride across Lake Pichola to reach Jagamandir Palace. Next, visit the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park in Vadodara. Your next destination to explore will be the Ellora Caves as you reach Aurangabad. Your journey will come to a completion in Mumbai.
Day 1: Delhi to Sawai Madhopur−
Gather at the Safdarjung Railway Station by 17:45 hours, where you will be welcomed by the staff of the Deccan Odyssey. As you settle in and relax inside, the train will leave for Sawai Madhopur. Enjoy a delightful dinner onboard and an overnight stay as the train traverses to Sawai Madhopur.
Day 2: Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore National Park)+
The train will reach Sawai Madhopur on the second day of your journey. After having breakfast, set out on a game drive in Ranthambore National Park. You can spot tigers, chinkara gazelles, leopards, and crocodiles, among other animals, at Ranthambore National Park. Return to the train for lunch, and later visit the Sawai Madhopur Lodge for high tea. Return to the train for the night to enjoy a delicious dinner and an overnight journey to Agra.
Day 3: Agra+
The train will reach Agra, and after you enjoy your breakfast, you will explore the city. Visit one of the modern seven wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal, and take your time exploring the exquisite architecture. After lunch, also visit the Itmad-ud-Daulah, the tomb of Ghiyas Beg, which was commissioned by his daughter, Noor Jahan. Later, take a trip to the Agra Fort and explore the local markets. Return to the train for an overnight journey to Jaipur.
Day 4: Jaipur+
As you arrive in Jaipur, you will leave for Amber Fort, but not before a scrumptious breakfast. En route to Amber Fort, visit Hawa Mahal, City Palace, and Jantar Mantar. After you reach the Amber Fort, explore it at your own pace. Then, after a delicious lunch, you can stroll through the vivid and colourful markets of Jaipur, or take a spa session. Return to the train station to feast on a delicious world-class dinner and an overnight stay as the train traverses towards Udaipur.
Day 5: Udaipur+
On the 5th day of your journey, you will find yourself in Udaipur. After breakfast, start exploring the city by visiting the City Palace. Then take a ferry ride across Lake Pichola to reach Jagamandir Palace. You can get a brilliant view of the Aravalis from Jagamandir Palace. Then you can go on a heritage walk through the Old City of Udaipur. After your exploration, return to the train for a delicious dinner and leave for Vadodara.
Day 6: Vadodra+
After breakfast, start exploring Vadodara and visit many tourist attractions. Start your Vadodara darshan with a visit to Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park. Then head towards the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum. You can also visit the Laxmi Vilas Palace to enjoy high tea. Explore the palace’s old armoury and sculptures before returning on board for a delicious dinner and the journey towards Aurangabad.
Day 7: Aurangabad - Ellora Caves+
Explore the culturally rich city of Aurangabad on the 7th day of your Indian Odyssey tour. After your breakfast, visit the Ellora Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Aurangabad. Explore the total of 34 rock-cut shrines, the Kailash Temple, and afterwards enjoy lunch onboard the Deccan Odyssey. Enjoy your dinner on board the train while on your journey to Jalgaon to explore the famed Ajanta Caves.
Day 8: Mumbai+
You will end your journey where it began at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station in Mumbai. Bid goodbye after a memorable and adventurous time.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

Your request for cancellation must be made in writing and must be acknowledged by Royal Indian Trains. The terms for refunds and cancellation fees are as follows:

  • If the cancellation request is received more than 61 days before the train tour departure, no cancellation fees will be applied.
  • If the cancellation request is received 47-61 days before the train tour departure, the cancellation fee will be 20% of the ticket value.
  • If the cancellation request is received 32-46 days before the train tour departure, the cancellation fee will be 50% of the ticket value.
  • If the cancellation request is received less than 32 days before the train tour departure, the cancellation fees applied will be 100% of the ticket value.
  • If the train tour is cancelled due to low occupancy or technical issues, you will be informed in advance and refunded in full, as per RBI guidelines.
