Itinerary

Your Cultural Odyssey tour with The Deccan Odyssey starts in Delhi. Your first stop will be in Sawai Madhopur, where you will set out for a game drive in Ranthambore National Park. You will then visit Jaipur to explore the Amber Fort, the Hawa Mahal, the City Palace, and Jantar Mantar. Then your journey will take you to Agra to explore the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort. Next, you will reach and explore Gwalior and Orchha, visiting the Gwalior Fort and the Orchha Fort Complex. The next stop in your journey will be Khajuraho, where you can visit Hindu and Jain temples. Taking this holy journey further, you will then visit the religious capital of India, Varanasi. Your journey will end where it began in Delhi.
Day 1: Delhi−
Gather at the Safdarjung Railway Station by 17:45 hours, where you will be welcomed by the staff of the Deccan Odyssey. As you settle in and relax inside, the train will leave for Sawai Madhopur. Enjoy a delightful dinner on board and an overnight stay as the train travels to Sawai Madhopur.
Day 2: Sawai Madhopur+
The train will reach Sawai Madhopur on the second day of your journey. After having breakfast, set out on a game drive in Ranthambore National Park. You can spot tigers, chinkara gazelles, leopards, and crocodiles, among other animals, at Ranthambore National Park.
Day 3: Jaipur+
As you arrive in Jaipur, you will leave for Amber Fort, but not before a scrumptious breakfast. En route to Amber Fort, visit Hawa Mahal, City Palace, and Jantar Mantar. After you reach the Amber Fort, explore it at your own pace. Then, after a delicious lunch, you can stroll through the vivid and colourful markets of Jaipur, or take a spa session. Return to the train station to feast on a delicious world-class dinner and an overnight stay as the train traverses towards Udaipur.
Day 4: Agra+
The train will reach Agra, and after you enjoy your breakfast, you will explore the city. Visit one of the modern seven wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal, and take your time exploring the exquisite architecture. Later, take a trip to the Agra Fort and explore the local markets.
Day 5: Gwalior - Orchha+
After your arrival in Gwalior, visit and explore the famed Gwalior Fort. After your exploration of the fort, return to the train and leave for Orchha. After reaching Orchha, visit the Orchha Fort Complex and temples for exploration and adventure. Board the train after you have explored the major tourist attractions of Madhya Pradesh. As the train heads to Khajurao, enjoy your dinner and overnight stay in The Golden Chariot.
Day 6: Khajuraho+
Enjoy a delicious breakfast on board as the train enters Khajuraho. Explore the city of Khujraho, India’s most extensive group of medieval Hindu and Jain temples. Afterwards, return to the train to feast on a delightful dinner and overnight stay as the train heads to Varanasi.
Day 7: Varanasi+
Arrive in Varanasi to explore the Spiritual Capital of India. Start your exploration of Varanasi after a scrumptious breakfast. Marvel at the glorious skies and the sunset as you enjoy a boat ride on the Ganga River. Later, explore the markets of Varanasi and then return to the train for dinner and an overnight journey taking you back to Delhi.
Day 8: Delhi+
You will end your journey where it began at Safdarjung Railway Station in Delhi. Bid goodbye after a memorable and adventurous time.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

For luxury train tours, the refund and cancellation policies are the same as the train’s refund/ cancellation policy. For the Deccan Odyssey tours, these refund and cancellation terms are listed below.

Your request for cancellation must be made in writing and must be acknowledged by Royal Indian Trains. The terms for refunds and cancellation fees are as follows:
  • If the cancellation request is received more than 61 days before the train tour departure, no cancellation fees will be applied.
  • If the cancellation request is received 47-61 days before the train tour departure, the cancellation fee will be 20% of the ticket value.
  • If the cancellation request is received 32-46 days before the train tour departure, the cancellation fee will be 50% of the ticket value.
  • If the cancellation request is received less than 32 days before the train tour departure, the cancellation fees applied will be 100% of the ticket value.
  • If the train tour is cancelled due to low occupancy or technical issues, you will be informed in advance and refunded in full, as per RBI guidelines.
