Reach Mukurthi Dam and complete the one-way trail. Spend a short time at the endpoint as instructed by the guide.

Eligiblity for Pandiyar Rest House to Mukurti Dam

This trek is suitable for trekkers with basic to moderate fitness. Participants should be able to walk 5 km on natural forest terrain for around 4 hours. The route is not very long, but the high-altitude weather, uneven ground and forest setting require proper preparation.

The trek is not recommended for pregnant women, people with serious heart conditions, breathing issues, severe knee pain, ankle injuries, vertigo or major mobility problems. Children should join only with adult supervision and required permission.

Private vehicle or pre-arranged local transport is recommended because this is a forest-side route with limited public transport access.

By Rail

The nearest railway station is Udhagamandalam / Ooty Railway Station, around 45 km from Mukurthi National Park. Mettupalayam Railway Station can also be used as the major railhead for travellers coming from Coimbatore, Chennai or other cities.

By Air

The nearest airport is Coimbatore International Airport, around 140 km from Mukurthi National Park. From Coimbatore, travellers can reach Ooty by road and continue towards Naduvattam / Pandiyar Rest House.
