The Chinna Suruli - Thenpalani Trail offers a refreshing trekking experience through the Meghamalai foothills of Theni. Chinna Suruli Falls, also called Cloud Land Falls, is located near Kombaithozhu Village and is known for its forest surroundings, cool streams and waterfall scenery. A research article on the Chinnasuruli stream also records the falls near Kombaithozhu Village, originating from the Megamalai hills, with coordinates around 9°42’30” N, 77°25’34” E.
The trek begins near the Chinna Suruli side and moves through natural forest terrain towards Thenpalani. Trekkers can expect uneven paths, gradual climbs, stream crossings, shaded forest sections and open views of the surrounding hills. Since this is a one-way trail, return transport should be planned from the ending point in advance.

7:00 AM – Reporting at Chinna Suruli / Kombaithozhu Base Point
Arrive at the trek starting point, complete basic entry formalities and meet the trek guide.
7:30 AM – Safety Briefing and Trek Start
The guide explains the trail route, safety instructions, forest rules and trekking discipline before starting the walk.
8:30 AM – Forest Trail and Stream-Side Walk
Continue through shaded forest sections, rocky paths and stream-side stretches. This part offers good views of the natural landscape around Chinna Suruli.
10:00 AM – Short Rest Break
Take a short break for water, snacks and photography. Avoid littering and follow guide instructions.
10:30 AM – Continue Towards Thenpalani
The trail gradually moves through Meghamalai foothill terrain with open hill views, rural landscapes and forest edges.
12:30 PM – Reach Thenpalani Side
Complete the final stretch of the trek and reach the Thenpalani foothill region.
1:00 PM – Trek Ends
The trek ends at Thenpalani. Travellers can continue with pre-arranged return transport to Theni, Chinnamanur or Bodinayakanur.
