Aliyar Canal Bank Trek Itinerary

Day Steps:

Reception Point – Sarkarpathy Power House

• Altitude: 300 MSL (Approx.)
• Drive from Pollachi: 24 km (approx. 45 minutes)

Sarkarpathy to Canal Bank Trail Start

• Altitude: 320 MSL
• Walk Distance: 1 km | Duration: 15–20 minutes

Canal Bank Walk – Forest Stretch

• Altitude: 350–475 MSL (gradual)
• Trek Distance: 6 km | Duration: 2–2.5 hours
• Highlights: Elephant tracks, Hornbill sightings, Sambar Deer, Indian Gaur

Trail End – Return to Reception

• Distance: 8 km (One Way) | Total Duration: ~3 hours
• Local transport provided: End point to Reception (8 km)

• Wear camouflage or dull-coloured clothing; avoid bright colours, strong perfumes, and noise.
• Carry a reusable water bottle and personal medication.

Eligibility for Aliyar Canal Bank Trek:

• Age Requirement: Minimum 6 years (family-friendly trek; kids 6+ welcome)
• First-timers are welcome; no prior trekking experience needed.
• Fitness Criteria: Basic fitness required to walk 8 km on flat-to-gentle terrain over 3 hours.
• Trekker should be comfortable walking continuously for 1.5 hours without breaks.
