Starting from the Kurangani Trek Reception Point, the route moves through the foothill landscape of the Western Ghats, with natural greenery, stream sections, semi-evergreen forest cover and open valley views.

The trail is known for its mix of shola patches, wild grasslands, waterfalls and hill scenery. A watchtower along the route gives trekkers wide views of Kolukkumalai hilltop and nearby peaks, making this trail suitable for photography, nature walks and beginner-friendly adventure. Day 1: Kurangani - Sambalaru Trek

8:00 AM – Report at Kurangani Trek Reception Point
Arrive at the reception point, complete entry formalities and meet the trek guide.

8:30 AM – Start the Trek

Continue towards the Sambalaru side. Enjoy the peaceful stream-side trail, waterfall views and surrounding greenery.

9:45 AM – Watchtower / Viewpoint Break
Stop near the watchtower area for panoramic views of Kolukkumalai hills and nearby Western Ghats peaks.

10:15 AM – Return Trek Begins
Start walking back through the same trail towards Kurangani.

11:00 AM – Trek Ends at Kurangani Reception Point
Reach the starting point, complete the trek and proceed with your return travel.
