The Sri Lanka Ramayana Yatra is a deeply spiritual journey that brings the timeless epic of the Ramayana to life. This sacred pilgrimage takes you across the island of Lanka, believed to be the ancient kingdom of King Ravana, where Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, and Lord Hanuman left divine footprints.

Beginning from the eastern shores of Trincomalee, home to the powerful Koneshwaram Temple, the journey unfolds through holy sites where Lord Rama worshipped Lord Shiva, Hanuman searched for Sita, and Sita Mata endured her trials with divine grace.

You will visit Munneswaram and Manavari Temples, sacred shrines where Lord Rama sought absolution; explore Sigiriya, linked to Ravana’s era; and experience the spiritual aura of Kandy, home to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

In the misty hills of Nuwara Eliya, known as Little England, discover the legendary Ashok Vatika at Sita Amman Temple, Gayathri Peedam, and the landscapes where Hanuman leapt across Lanka. The journey continues past Ravana Falls, Ravana Cave, and Divurumpola, where Sita performed the Agni Pariksha.

Concluding in Colombo, the yatra offers blessings at Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple and Kelaniya Vibhishana Shrine, completing a spiritually uplifting Ramayana pilgrimage filled with devotion, mythology, and serene natural beauty.

Itinerary

Embark on a sacred Sri Lanka Ramayana Yatra, tracing legendary Ramayana sites including Ashok Vatika, Ravana Falls, Koneshwaram, and Hanuman temples.

Day 1: Arrival in Colombo & Transfer to Trincomalee−

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) and meet our representative.Proceed to Trincomalee to check in the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Koneshwaram Temple and Trincomalee city tour+

After Breakfast at hotel, proceed to visit Koneshwaram Temple and continue the city tour .Overnight stay in Trincomalee

Day 3: Transfer to Dambulla/Sigiriya+

After Breakfast, Check out the hotel and Proceed to Chilaw to visit the Munneswaram Templeand Manavari Temple, where Lord Rama prayed to Lord Shiva to absolve the sin of killing a Brahmin (Ravana).
Continue to Dambulla/Sigiriya for overnight stay.

Day 4: Sigiriya & Transfer to Kandy+

After Breakfast, Check out the hotel and visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress (a UNESCO World Heritage site), which is believed to have connections to Ravana and the place where Sita was held captive in the nearby Cobra Hood Cave.
Afterward, travel to the hill capital of Kandy. In the evening, you could witness a traditional cultural show.
Overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 5: Kandy & Transfer to Nuwara Eliya+

After Breakfast, Check out the hotel and Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relicin Kandy.
En route to Nuwara Eliya, stop at the Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple in Ramboda, where the Chinmaya Mission built a temple on the hills where Hanuman is believed to have searched for Sita.
Enjoy the scenic drive through tea plantations and visit a tea factory.
Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 6: Nuwara Eliya Ramayana Sites+

After Breakfast, Check out the hotel and Explore the key Ramayana sites around Nuwara Eliya, also known as "Little England".
Visit the Sita Amman Temple(believed to be part of the Ashok Vatika where Sita was held captive) and the nearby stream where she is said to have bathed.
Visit Gayathri Peedam, where Indrajit (Ravana's son) performed penance to Lord Shiva.
Optionally, visit the Hakgala Botanical Garden (part of the Ashok Vatika)
Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya or proceed to Ella/Bandarawela.

Day 7: Ravana Falls & Transfer to Colombo/Bentota+

After Breakfast, Check out the hotel and Travel towards Colombo, stopping en route to see the Ravana Ella Falls and the adjacent Ravana Cave.
Visit the Divurumpola Temple, the site where Sita performed her "Agni Pariksha" (fire ordeal) to prove her purity.
Continue to the west coast, either to Bentota for some relaxation or directly to Colombo.
Overnight stay in Colombo or Bentota.

Day 8: Colombo Sites & Departure+

After Breakfast, Check out the hotel , visit the Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple, the only temple in the world with a chariot for Anjaneyar (Hanuman).
Visit the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara(Vibhishana shrine), where Vibhishana (Ravana's brother) was coronated king of Lanka by Lakshmana. Depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport for departure flight.
