Overview

The 10-day, 9-night trip lets you explore nature and take part in adventures in Ladakh and Uttarakhand.

The trip starts from Leh, and you get to explore the Leh Market, Leh Palace, Shey Palace Monastery, Thiksey Monastery, Hemis Monastery, Nubra Valley, Khardung La, and Pangong Lake.

Thereafter, you can explore the lush meadows of Uttarakhand where you get to do adventure activities. You can do rafting in the white waters, paragliding, mountain hiking, trekking, and snow activities.

Moreover, you can go for spiritual visits to the river Ganges and witness the Ganga Aarti on the Triveni ghat. Additionally when you are visiting there you can also take the cable car rides which are a fun of its own kind.

Itinerary

On this trip you will enjoy visits to Leh market, and monastery on the high altitude, Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, Auli/Joshimath, Rishikesh, and Dehradun.

Day 1: Arrival in Leh−

Arrival in Leh and check in to your hotel with the help of our travel guide. Rest to recover from the travel fatigue. In the evening, you can have a slow walk in the Leh Market to discover Ladakh's unique culture, handicrafts and the local cafes serving different food options.

Day 2: Leh Local Sightseeing+

Begin the day with a delicious breakfast, and then go out for local sightseeing in Leh. Visit Leh Palace, offering stunning views of the Indus Valley. Then visit Shey Palace monastery, home to a 12-metre-high statue of Buddha.

Visit the nearby Thiksey Monastery, which is a steep climb. Enjoy the views from the top and click pictures of the Then head to Hemis Monastery, which is 20 km away and a 40-minute drive. It is also the wealthiest monastery in Ladakh.

Day 3: Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La+

After breakfast, embark on a drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass, which is one of the world’s highest motorable roads. Upon your arrival, visit Diskit Monastery and enjoy a double-humped camel safari on the Hunder sand dunes. You can have a unique view of the desert and meet snow-clad peaks.

Day 4: Nubra Valley - Pangong Lake (via Khardung La)+

Post breakfast, take a drive towards Pangong Lake. It is adventurous and offbeat drives via the Shyok River. Upon arrival, rest a little, then spend your evening soaking in the surreal scenery of the lake changing colour as the setting sun sets.

Then, by night, you can stargazing under clear skies and a pollution-free environment. Moreover, this is where you can go camping and have bonfires.

Day 5: Pangong Lake+

Wake up early in the morning to catch a mesmerising sunrise, then head for breakfast. Then the rest of the day is for various adventures, depending on the season. You can go birdwatching and Yak rides.

Moreover, you can indulge in photography around Pangkok Lake, which is popular for its ever-changing water hues. Afterwards, you can also soak in nature's view, taking a small walk by the lake. Then drive back to Leh, and the rest of your day is free for rest.

Day 6: Leh - Dehradun+

After an early breakfast, check out of the hotel, and you will be transferred to Uttarakhand, where the landscape changes from the cold desert to a forested mountain area. On arrival at Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport.

Then continue towards the Auli/Joshimath. It is approximately 6-7 hours of travel. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel for an overnight stay and dinner.

Day 7: Auli+

Day seven is to explore the Garhwal Himalayan region’s panoramic views. After breakfast, you will explore Auli, known as the ‘Skiing Capital of India’. You can visit Auli Lake, one of the highest human-made lakes in the world, which is also home to the ski slopes. Try photography with the reflections of Nanda Devi peak.

The next adventure is to ride Asia’s second-largest cable car, which extends 4 km from Joshimath and offers views of snow-capped mountains. For mountaineering, you can try Trisul, a prominent peak. Some high-altitude treks to try include the Kuari Pass Trek, Kwani Bugyal, and Pangarchulla Summit. Then return to the hotel after an adventurous day for a warm, tasty dinner.

Day 8: Transfer to Rishikesh+

After breakfast, transfer downhill to Rishikesh. The journey will pass through Joshimath, Devprayag and Rudraprayag. On the way to Devprayag, witness the confluence of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda. Reach the hotel, check in, after dinner, have a rest for the night.

Day 9: Rishikesh Adventures and Sightseeing+

Rishikesh is the perfect spot for spirituality and adventure. Start your day early and, after breakfast at the hotel, leave for sightseeing in Rishikesh. Go white water rafting in Shivpuri. The rafting can be stretched to a thrilling Himalayan river adventure.

Next, enjoy the fun and adrenaline rush of ziplining across the Ganga or bungee jumping at Mohan Chatti. In the evening, return to the Rishikesh area for visits to the popular Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula, and then to Parmarth Niketan Ashram.

Then visit the iconic Triveni Ghat for the Spiritual Ganga Aarti experience. Now return to the hotel for dinner and rest after a long day of sightseeing and adventures.

Day 10: Departure+

After having breakfast, pack your stuff and then check out of the hotel. Then you will be transferred to the airport or the railway station for departure. Continue your onward journey with many memories of the adventure tour.

Yes, you can visit Gurson Bugyal for a panoramic view of the Himalayan peaks. Some more viewpoints from where you can see the Himalayan peaks are Kwani Bugyal, Tali Top, Tapovan Area from where you can see the Trishul Peak, and Nanda Devi(second highest peak) range of Himalayan peaks.

Which adventure activities are included in the package?

River rafting, trekking, ziplining, cable car and paragliding are some of the adventure activities included in the trip. Among them, the cable car ride is the most unique experience to try on the trip.

How difficult is the Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake journey via the Shyok Route?

The Shyok Route is moderate in difficulty and involves rough mountain terrain. It is best for off-roading and must be done in the company of an experienced local.
