Get ready for an exciting day exploring Munnar after breakfast. Situated at the confluence of three mountain streams – Kundale, Nallathanni & Mudrapuzha – Munnar is 1600 meters above sea level. This majestic hill station was once the summer resort of the British government in South India.
Go sightseeing at Tata Tea Museum (closed on Monday), Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, Photo Point, and in the afternoon proceed to Rajamalai (Eravikulam National Park, closed January–March due to breeding season) where the rare species of mountain goat, Nilgiri Tahr, can be spotted. Post breakfast, start your day with a drive to Thekkady (04 hrs). On arrival at Thekkady, check in at the hotel. After relaxing for a while, you can spend the day exploring Thekkady.
Visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, spread across 777 sq km of which 360 sq km is thick evergreen forest. Activities like boating at Periyar Lake, Kathakali, Kalari (martial art show), and spice plantation tours can also be done on a direct payment basis. Overnight stay at the hotel.
