Your adventure begins in Kohima, Nagaland’s lively capital, where verdant hills echo with tribal songs and ancient lore. Visit Khonoma, Asia’s first green village, and discover the ceremonial Morungs, Dzuleke Village, and the Heritage Complex, home to the world-famous Hornbill Festival.

Next, explore Imphal, the cultural capital of Manipur. Visit Loktak Lake, India’s largest freshwater lake with its surreal floating islands, and the Keibul Lamjao National Park, home to the rare Sangai deer.

Experience the living culture at Ima Keithel, Asia’s only women-run market, and Andro village, rich in pottery and folklore. Continue to Aizawl, the charming capital of Mizoram. Marvel at KV Paradise, the "Taj Mahal of Mizoram," and Solomon's Temple, while enjoying the scenic drives through lush mountains and misty valleys.

Conclude your journey in Tripura, exploring its royal and spiritual legacy, from the Unakoti Rock Carvings and Ujjayanta Palace to Neermahal, India’s only lake palace in the east. Itinerary

Experience Northeast India’s soul through landscapes, cultures, and stories that time preserves with Cholan Tours. Kohima’s Hornbill heritage, Imphal’s Loktak Lake, Mizoram’s tranquil hills, Tripura’s royal palaces, and ancient rock carvings are a sight to behold. 

Day 1: Dimapur to Kohima

Arrive at Dimapur Airport and transfer to Kohima (approx. 3 hours). Nestled amidst the northeast mountains, Nagaland welcomes you with misty hills and tribal charm. Check into your hotel and unwind. Kohima, the proud capital of the Angami Nagas, exudes mysticism, culture, and heritage. The highlight here is the Hornbill Festival (1-10 December), a grand celebration of Naga traditions, crafts, and performances. Overnight stay in Kohima.

Day 2: Khonoma & Dzuleke Village Excursion+

Drive to Khonoma, Asia’s first green village, known for its eco-friendly practices and warrior history. Visit Morungs (age-group houses), ceremonial gates, and meet local artisans. Continue to the serene Dzuleke Village, famed for its lush greenery and biodiversity. Return to Kohima for an evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Kohima.

Day 3: Kohima to Imphal (140 km / 5 hrs)+

After breakfast, visit the Heritage Complex, the site of the Hornbill Festival. Later, drive to Imphal, the capital of Manipur, often called the "Land of Jewels." Evening free to explore Khwairamband Bazaar (Ima Keithel) , Asia’s only women-run market. Overnight stay in Imphal.

Day 4: Loktak Lake & Moirang Excursion+

Head to Moirang, the ancient capital of the Manipuri kings. Visit the Japanese War Memorial, Loktak Lake, Sendra Island, and Keibul Lamjao National Park, home to the rare Sangai Deer. Stop by the Sangai Ethnic Park and the INA Museum, commemorating Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army. Return to Imphal for the night.

Day 5: Imphal to Silchar+

Enjoy a scenic drive through the hills to Silchar, the gateway to Mizoram. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Silchar.

Day 6: Silchar to Aizawl+

Drive to Aizawl, Mizoram’s enchanting capital. On arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Aizawl.

Day 7: Aizawl & Hmuifang Excursion+

Take a day trip to Hmuifang (1619 m), a serene mountain spot offering stunning valley views. Later, visit KV Paradise, famously known as Mizoram’s "Taj Mahal," and the magnificent Solomon’s Temple. Overnight stay in Aizawl.

Day 8: Aizawl to Silchar+

Drive back to Silchar. Evening at leisure. Explore the markets in Silchar and the local culture. Overnight stay in Silchar.

Day 9: Silchar to Agartala (via Unakoti)+

Drive to Agartala, Tripura’s capital, visiting Unakoti en route , an archaeological marvel with massive 7th-9th century rock carvings of Lord Shiva amidst waterfalls and forested hills. Overnight stay in Agartala.

Day 10: Agartala Sightseeing (Melaghar & Sepahijala)+

Explore Neermahal Palace, a former royal retreat on Lake Rudrasagar, and visit the sacred Tripura Sundari Temple. Later, visit the Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary, home to over 150 bird species and the rare Phayre’s Langur. Return to Agartala to visit the Ujjayanta Palace and the Umamaheshwar Temple. Overnight stay in Agartala.

Day 11: Chabimura & Akhaura Border+

Visit Chabimura, known for 15th-century rock carvings of Hindu deities along the Gomati River, and take an optional boat ride.Later, visit the Akhaura Border and witness the evening Beating Retreat ceremony (subject to schedule). Overnight stay in Agartala.

Day 12: Departure from Agartala+

After breakfast, transfer to Agartala Airport for your onward journey, carrying memories of the Northeast’s mystic charm and cultural soul.
