Kawal Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the Adilabad of Telangana, offers a secluded refuge and picturesque views. Home to dense, dry forests populated primarily by teak, bamboo, and a variety of other trees, this sanctuary is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts.

The sanctuary, one of the oldest in northern Telangana, is renowned for its diverse wildlife, including Cheetal, Sambar, Barking Deer, Nilgai, Sloth Bear, Panther, Indian Bison, and Tiger. Planning your visit can enhance the experience significantly.

The sanctuary was designated as a Tiger Reserve due to a decrease in tiger populations caused by various ecological and social factors, and it plays a critical role as a catchment area for the River Kadem, a tributary of the mighty Godavari.
