Itinerary

This 5-day Pandiya Nadu temple tour covers Madurai, Thirumayam, Tirupullani, Srivilliputhur, Tirunelveli, and Nava Tirupati temples, offering a sacred pilgrimage across 18 Divya Desams in Tamil Nadu.

Day 1: Arrival in Madurai−

On arrival at Madurai Airport or Railway Station, after meet-and-greet formalities, transfer to your hotel and check in. Later, visit the Thirumalai Nayakar Palace and the iconic Meenakshi Amman Temple, one of the most visited Hindu temples in India and a major pilgrimage centre in South India.

Day 2: Madurai - Thirumayam - Madurai+

After breakfast, drive to Thirumayam and visit Satyagiri Natha Perumal Temple, an ancient Vishnu shrine dating back to the 9th century, built by the Pandya dynasty and now preserved by the Archaeological Survey of India, ideal for heritage and history lovers. Later, visit Tirukottiyur Sowmya Narayana Perumal Temple and the revered Azhagar Kovil (Kallazhagar Temple), both part of the Divya Desam temples circuit in Tamil Nadu.

Return to Madurai, overnight stay in Madurai.

Day 3: Madurai - Tirupullani - Srivilliputhur - Tirunelveli+

Post breakfast, visit Koodal Azhagar Temple and Kaalamegha Perumal Temple, both critical Vishnu temples in Madurai. Then, head to Tirupullani for Kalyana Jagannatha Perumal Temple, an important Divya Desam near Rameswaram. Later, continue to Nindra Narayana Perumal Temple in Sivakasi and the popular Srivilliputhur Vadabadra Saayi Perumal Temple, one of the most revered Vishnu temples in Tamil Nadu. Drive to Tirunelveli.

Day 4: Tirunelveli - Azhvar Thirunagari - Tirunelveli+

Enjoy a full-day visit to the Nava Tirupati temples, a cluster of nine sacred temples along the Tiruchendur–Tirunelveli route, all dedicated to Lord Vishnu and listed among the 108 Divya Desams. These include the temples at Sri Vaikundam, Thiru Varagunamangai, Thirupulinkudi, and others, highly recommended for Vaishnavite temple tour seekers.

If time permits, visit the grand Nellaiappar Temple, a Shiva-Vishnu twin temple complex and a highlight of Tirunelveli tourism.

Day 5: Tirunelveli - Thrikurungudi - Madurai (260 Kms / 4.5 hrs)+

After breakfast, check out and drive to Thotthatrinathar Temple in Nanguneri, followed by a visit to Nindra Nambi Perumal Temple in Thirukurungudi, both key spots on the Tamil Nadu Divya Desam pilgrimage trail.

If time allows, take a short detour into the Western Ghats reserve forest to visit the scenic Malaimel Nambi Temple, known for its peaceful setting and spiritual energy.

Later, return to Madurai and transfer to the airport or railway station for your onward journey, completing a deeply spiritual tour of Divya Desam temples in Tamil Nadu.
