In Amritsar, you can start your tour by visiting the famous Golden Temple or Harmandir Sahib, which is among the holiest shrines in the Sikh religion.

The temple is known for its stunning Mughal and Rajput architecture blended together, and a gold-plated dome, which offers a scenic view. The temple also includes a sacred Amrit Sarovar pool and a community kitchen, which offers free meals to countless visitors daily. 
You can also visit the iconic Gobindgarh Fort, which was built by the army of Gujjar Singh.

Built during the 1700s, the Fort also acted as the central fortress for the Sikh Empire. Amritsar also houses various historic sites, which played an important role during the British Raj. One of such places is the Jallianwala Bagh, which is a historic garden and a national memorial commemorating the people who lost their lives during the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

Day 1: Arriving at Amritsar

You can also enjoy shopping at some of the oldest and traditional shopping centres in the city, like the Hall Bazaar, which is famous for bangles and embroidery, and Katra Jaimal Singh Market, famous for textiles.
Day 3: Experiencing Wagah Border+
On the final day of your tour, you can witness the highly patriotic and energetic flag-lowering or Beating Retreat ceremony at the Wagah Border. The border lies between India and Pakistan, and is a symbol of the 1947 partition of the two countries.
