Ujjain Spiritual Tour Package

Ujjain is one of the oldest cities in India and one of the Sapta Puri, the seven sacred cities in Hinduism. It is situated on the banks of the sacred River Shipra. The city is best known for the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple, one of the Twelve Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva.

According to Hindu tradition, Lord Shiva is worshipped here as Mahakal, the Lord of Time. The temple is especially famous for its early morning Bhasma Aarti, a unique ritual performed before sunrise. Devotees from across India and many other countries gather to witness this sacred ceremony. The temple's beautiful architecture, devotional atmosphere and centuries-old traditions make it one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in the country.

Ujjain is also one of the four cities where the Kumbh Mela is celebrated. Known here as the Simhastha Kumbh Mela, this grand religious gathering takes place every twelve years on the banks of the River Shipra. Millions of pilgrims, saints and spiritual leaders come together to take a holy dip, participate in religious ceremonies and listen to spiritual teachings. It is one of the largest and most remarkable religious events in the world.

Beyond its temples, Ujjain has a rich cultural and historical heritage. The city was once an important centre of astronomy, mathematics and Sanskrit learning. The ancient Vedh Shala (Jantar Mantar Observatory), built by Maharaja Jai Singh II, reflects India's long tradition of astronomical studies. Other important places to visit include Kal Bhairav Temple, Harsiddhi Temple, Mangalnath Temple and Sandipani Ashram, where, according to Hindu tradition, Lord Krishna and Balarama received their education.
