Tour Overview

Heritage to Hills is a richly varied 5-night, 6-day group tour that traces a magnificent arc across South India, connecting the grandeur of Karnataka's royal heritage with the cool, misty landscapes of the Nilgiri and Palani Hills before arriving at the cultural and spiritual heartland of Tamil Nadu. The journey begins in Bangalore, with a same-day transfer to Mysore, one of South India's most celebrated heritage cities. The iconic Mysore Palace, a stunning showcase of Indo-Saracenic architecture, and the hilltop Chamundeshwari Temple at Chamundi Hills offer a powerful introduction to the region's royal and spiritual legacy.

From Mysore, the route ascends through the biodiverse forests of Bandipur and Mudumalai to Ooty, the celebrated Queen of Hill Stations in the Nilgiris. Two days here allow for an immersive exploration of Dodabetta Peak, the Government Botanical Garden, Rose Garden, and the neighbouring town of Coonoor, where Sim's Park, Lamb's Rock, and a traditional tea factory tour await. The scenic Nilgiri landscapes and the cool highland air make this a deeply refreshing leg of the journey.

The tour then moves to Kodaikanal, nestled in the Palani Hills, where a full day of sightseeing encompasses some of the hill station's most dramatic attractions, Silver Cascade Falls, Guna Caves, Pillar Rocks, Pine Forest, Green Valley Viewpoint, Coaker's Walk, Kurinji Andavar Temple, and the serene Kodaikanal Lake. The sheer variety of experiences packed into this leg makes Kodaikanal a standout highlight of the entire tour.

The journey concludes in Madurai, with a visit to the awe-inspiring Meenakshi Amman Temple, a masterpiece of Dravidian architecture, before drop-off at Madurai Airport. The package includes AC transportation, comfortable hotel accommodations, all meals, entrance fees, a dedicated tour manager, travel insurance, and gratuities throughout.
