The Peacock Trail: A Cultural Walk through Mylapore
One can step into the heart of Chennai’s spiritual and cultural quarter with the Peacock Trail, a curated walking tour that brings alive the history, legends, and daily life of Mylapore, one of the oldest neighbourhoods in India. This trail is not just a sightseeing experience—it's a journey into a living heritage.
Led by engaging local storytellers, the walk takes you through centuries-old Kapaleeshwarar Temple, bustling traditional markets, age-old streets, and lesser-known shrines. The trail offers fascinating insights into Hindu mythology, Dravidian architecture, ritual practices, and colonial legacies, including a stop at the San Thome Basilica, built over the tomb of St. Thomas.
Mylapore—meaning “land of the peacock”—derives its name from a legend where Goddess Parvati took the form of a peahen to perform penance. This myth beautifully threads the trail, enriching the narrative with symbolic depth.

Pondicherry Heritage Walk
This heritage walk takes you through the distinct French, Tamil, and Muslim quarters of the town, a captivating journey across time, cultures, and architectural styles. The trail reveals the enduring influences of ancient traders and various colonial powers that shaped the town’s unique fusion of culture, cuisine, religion, and heritage. Adding depth to this narrative is the spiritual legacy of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother, with the Aurobindo Ashram playing a central role in the town’s cultural identity and way of life.

Cycling is one of the most enriching ways to explore Pondicherry, offering a more immersive and intimate experience than travelling by car. Begin your ride from the French Consulate, guided by our expert storyteller who will bring Pondicherry's colonial past to life. Goubert Market visit with an English-speaking guide
This program is designed to offer a glimpse into local life in Pondicherry through a guided walk in one of the city’s busiest areas – the Goubert Market. Your client will explore the fish market, vegetable and fruit stalls, flower market and handloom shops, all located within the vibrant Goubert market – the largest market in Pondicherry. Dominated by women vendors, the market offers a unique opportunity to interact with them and gain insight into its daily operations.
Through this exclusive Market walk, the client will witness how the market comes alive each day with colour, energy and local culture.

Before diving into the art of cooking authentic South Indian cuisine, the client will begin with a visit to the local market to shop for fresh ingredients - an experience in itself that offers a unique glimpse into local life. Then it’s time to step into the kitchen and master the art of crafting flavourful South Indian dishes – a vibrant feast for your taste buds.

Madurai
Vanakkam Madurai (Walking tour at Madurai) - This tour starts in morning @ 6:00 hrs and ends at 8:00 hrs during this two hours walking tour, guests can witness the day to day life of local people like milking cows – where they can see the people who involved in milking cows by hand in the streets, Market – guests can walk through the streets where they can visit different markets like Banana Market, Onion Market, Vegetable market, Coconut shops, Fruit market - it would be a nice experience as they can see how the local people sell their products and fix prices according to the negotiation. Tea shops – since Madurai is a sleepless city, we can always find the small tea shops open at any time in the city. We take guests to the tea shop to taste a sip of tea with snacks.
Garland – Madurai is famous for flowers; here you can see how the people tie those flowers into beautiful garlands. These adorned garlands are purchased by the local people for the occasions. They can also see one of the oldest landmarks of Madurai, called Light Tower (Vilaku Thoon), and the tour ends at Ten Pillar Street.

Food Safari
During this food safari, we take clients to different food outlets inside the city, but not to the regular restaurants, to taste a particular dish in every outlet, which is special and authentic in that area. I am sure that guests will enjoy the safari as it is our aim to offer food as an experience to your guests without compromising on hygiene or quality. During the safari client can also experience different modes of transport like Auto Rickshaw, Cycle Rickshaws, Public transport (travel for a few minutes in a Government bus for an experience), on foot sometimes, by Car if required, to save time. The duration of the whole activity will be 2 to 2.5 hours (from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm)

Periyar
Spice plantation
Spices have always been an important part of life in Kerala. This is where the ancient masters of Ayurveda—the science of life—discovered how to use spices for healing. Today, spices are still used not only in Ayurvedic treatments, but also in Kerala’s cooking, traditional medicine, and cosmetics. Periyar, located in the lower hills about 1,000 metres above sea level, is blessed with numerous types of spices. A spice plantation tour is one of the top activities outside the wildlife reserve. It gives visitors a chance to understand what makes Kerala’s food so unique compared to the rest of India. During the tour, you’ll see and learn about cardamom, pepper, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and many other spices and medicinal plants.

Spice plantation tour with Cooking demo with lunch or Dinner
Guests can visit a local family home in Periyar and enjoy a guided walk through their private spice plantation. The host will introduce guests to the many spices grown in this region—often called the Spice Land of India—and explain how they are cultivated and used in daily life.
After the tour, guests can take part in a live cooking demonstration led by the family, where they will learn how to prepare some of Periyar's most popular local dishes. The experience concludes with a delicious home-cooked lunch or dinner, giving guests a true taste of Kerala’s rich culinary heritage.

Elephant ride Experiences
Clients can enjoy a private elephant ride through scenic cardamom plantations. Captive elephants are used for this program, which is available daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The ride lasts for approximately 30 minutes and offers a unique way to explore the natural beauty of the region.

Elephant Interaction Program
Enjoy a scenic ride on a majestic elephant, witness traditional timber dragging and indulge in elephant bathing and feeding sessions and capture memorable moments during a photo session. Guests can conclude their experience with a refreshing cup of tea or coffee.

Half a day Elephant package
Guests can explore the wilderness on elephant back, take part in elephant bathing and feeding and gain insights into traditional timber dragging. The Full-Day Package offers a thrilling elephant ride, a deep dive into the intricacies of cardamom processing and tea production and an adventurous jeep safari into remote areas. They can enjoy engaging elephant interactions, all while savoring delicious meals and snacks throughout the day

Bullcock Cart Ride:
The Bullock Cart Discovery tour takes guests through the farmlands of a village nestled in the valleys beyond the Periyar Tiger Reserve, riding on a traditional bullock cart. This unique experience offers insights into the region’s traditional farming practices, as well as the culture and lifestyle of the local people. During the tour, they’ll visit vineyards and fields with a variety of agricultural crops such as mango, tamarind, onion, and more. They’ll also see vibrant flowers like sunflowers, jasmine, and others in bloom.

This program includes a two-hour jeep drive through the panoramic landscapes of Kerala with sightseeing stops that include visits to large plantations, a cardamom processing centre, mountain viewpoints, and a spice plantation tour.

Kerala and Tamil Nadu Jeep tour
This three-and-a-half-hour program includes visits to vegetable farms, grape farms, scenic viewpoints and waterfalls. Guests shall also explore large plantations, a cardamom processing centre, mountain viewpoints, and enjoy a guided spice plantation tour

Sathram Jeep Safari
Embark on an off-road adventure deep into the wild heart of the Periyar Tiger Reserve. This thrilling jungle safari takes guests through dense forests, across river streams, past hidden waterfalls, and alongside scenic cardamom plantations. Surrounded by rolling hills and rich greenery, the route offers a chance to spot diverse wildlife in their natural habitat. A perfect blend of rugged terrain and natural beauty—this is Periyar at its wildest.

Tea Factory Visit
We will take guests to visit a local tea plantation, where they can observe the tea cultivation process. They will also have the opportunity to interact with some of the tea estate workers and learn more about their lives. Finally, indulge in a tea tasting session, guided by an expert.

Tea Trekking
The plantation is about a 20-minute drive from Periyar. A naturalist will accompany the guest and explain the process of how tea is grown, plucked and processed into the hot beverage they consume. The sight of local women plucking tea leaves in the estate adds a delightful element to the trek. This experience offers some of the most scenic beauty in the region and a memorable journey through the tea gardens.

Kalaripayattu show
Kalarippayattu - the oldest of all martial arts is a gift to the modern world and is often regarded as the mother of all martial arts. It originated in ancient South India. Kung Fu, popularised by the monks of the Shaolin Temple, traces its ancestry to Bodhi dharman, an Indian Buddhist monk and master of Kalarippayattu.

Kathakali dance show
Kathakali is one of the oldest theatre forms in the world. It originated in the state of Kerala. Kathakali is a group performance in which dancers portray various roles, traditionally based on themes from Hindu mythology—especially the two great epics, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata.

Boating at Periyar Lake
Boating on Periyar Lake is approximately a 1.5-hour journey through the scenic waters nestled within the Periyar Tiger Reserve. It is one of the major attractions in Thekkady. If guests are lucky, they may have the unique opportunity to observe wildlife up close from the boat.

Nature Walk
Various nature trails traversing diverse habitats form the trekking routes, generally 4 to 5 km in length. This is an interpretive program that offers an excellent opportunity to observe birds, butterflies, and other wildlife. The trails often pass through evergreen and moist deciduous forests, interspersed with marshy grasslands. The Nature Walk is the perfect program to connect with nature—to feel her presence, hear her whispers, and breathe in the scent of her flowers

Green Walk
The trekking program offers an excellent opportunity to observe birds, butterflies and other wildlife across a range of habitats during a 4–5 km walk lasting approximately 2.5 hours. It is an experience where one can truly feel nature’s whispers and sighs.

Bamboo Rafting Full day
This is a dawn-to-dusk hiking and rafting program that takes guests through some of the richest forest tracts of the Periyar Tiger Reserve. These forests are teeming with birdlife and arboreal animals such as the giant squirrel and the Nilgiri langur. The rafting portion lasts for about three hours, offering panoramic views of forest-clad hills reflected on the tranquil lake. Wildlife such as elephants, gaurs, and sambar deer are often spotted along the lake’s edges. An armed guard and four guides will accompany a maximum of 15 tourists. Tea, snacks, and a packed lunch will be served enroute

Bamboo Rafting Half a day (Trekking / Rafting)
This is a dawn-to-afternoon hiking and rafting program through some of the richest forest tracts of the Periyar Tiger Reserve. A mosaic of habitats will be traversed before the group boards bamboo rafts. While rafting, guests’ll enjoy panoramic views of forest-clad hills reflected in the lake. Wildlife such as elephants, gaurs, and sambar deer are often spotted along the lake’s edges. The program operates in two slots, and packed food will be provided.

Border Hiking or Full day Trekking
Border hiking in Periyar takes guests through the undulating terrains of this beautiful region. Get ready to witness the grandeur of majestic mountains surrounding this place from all sides. Trek through narrow pathways that offer the best views of lofty peaks, green pastures, and stunning valleys, making your trip truly unforgettable. This trekking program leads them through the renowned Periyar Tiger Reserve, where guests can witness exotic wild animals roaming freely in the jungle. The hike passes through lush green thickets situated at heights of around 900 to 1200 meters. Walk along winding trails, listen to the chirping of birds across distant mountain ranges and immerse yourself in the treasure of silence while trekking here with friends and family.

Jungle Scout
This program is part of the regular night patrolling in the fringe eco-development zones of the Periyar Tiger Reserve. By participating, guests are actively helping to protect the forests of Periyar. Each slot lasts a maximum of 3 hours and is limited to 6 visitors, who are divided into two separate teams. They will be accompanied by two protection watchers and one armed forest guard. Guests can challenge their senses—sight, hearing, and smell—and immerse themselves in the unique world of nocturnal jungle life. The three-hour night trek starts from two points: the Entrance Gate of the Periyar Tiger Reserve and the Bamboo Groves. This experience offers guests a true feeling of wilderness at night, accompanied by an armed forest guard and two guides.

Tiger Trail
The Tiger Trail is an adventurous trekking and camping program offered in two packages: one-night and two-night stays. The program is unique in being conducted by a team of rehabilitated poachers and tree cutters from the park—hardy and dependable individuals with intimate knowledge of the forest terrain. A maximum of six tourists are taken at a time, accompanied by five guides and one armed forest guard. Here, guests have the chance to see wildlife such as Nilgiri langurs, giant squirrels, elephants, and even tigers! Normally, 20 to 35 km of trekking distance will be covered, depending on the route chosen.
Duration: One night or two nights
Jungle Jeep Safari (Gavi)
This is one of the most popular programs in Thekkady. The jeep safari to Gavi, a picturesque land, is a major off-the-beaten-path destination ideal for a wilderness retreat, offering trekking, birding, canoeing, and boarding facilities. This biological garden, with its hills and valleys, tropical forests, sprawling grasslands, sholas, cascading waterfalls, and cardamom plantations, is home to many endangered species such as the lion-tailed macaque and Nilgiri tahr. After breakfast, guests can enjoy trekking through the forest with a trained guide. Return by 12:30 hrs for a South Indian vegetarian lunch, followed by boating on Gavi Lake (rowboat), a visit to the cardamom plantations and curing house, and a stop at the Sabarimala viewpoint. The trip concludes with evening tea.

Jungle Inn / Camping & Trekking
Arrive at Thekkady and report at the check post near the Periyar East Division Office by 2:30 PM. After obtaining entry tickets, guests will be guided to the Jungle Inn by a short trek. Check in at the Jungle Inn. Evening tea, dinner, and a comfortable stay will be provided in the serene wilderness, marking the end of the first day.
Early morning, the guide will take the guest for a short trek and birdwatching. After the trek, breakfast will be served. Check out after breakfast, and guest will be guided back to the check post in Thekkady.

Munnar
Letchmi Hill Trekking
A full-day trek through the Letchmi Hills, lasting 4 to 6 hours depending on guests’ pace, offers a variety of landscapes, including tea plantations, grasslands, rocky terrain, and Shola forests. The adventure begins with a walk through the tea plantations of Letchmi Estate, leading to a hike up to a grassland viewpoint. As they continue, the trail becomes rockier, offering breathtaking views of expansive tea estates and the town of Old Munnar nestled in the valley. In the distance, guest can see the peaks of the Western Ghats and meandering streams.
The trek is available in both medium and hard difficulty levels and can be customized to suit their preferred duration. Throughout the journey, the rich biodiversity of the Western Ghats unfolds before you. Expect to encounter a variety of vibrant birds, insects, and signs of wildlife, all of which add to the immersive experience.

Duration 5 to 6 hours (full day) with packed picnic lunch.
Chokarmudi Trekking
Climb to the top of Chokramudi Peak and enjoy the stunning views along the trail and at the summit. Below, guests will see lush tea plantations carpeting the valleys. The Gap Road view stands out against the greenery, while Ponmudi, Mathikettan Shola National Park, and the Muttukadu paddy fields stretch into the distance. They will also catch glimpses of Manithookkammedu, Anayirangal, and the impressive Bison Valley.
The trek to Chokramudi Peak is moderate to challenging, taking about 3 to 4 hours. The trail passes through a mix of grasslands and rocky terrain. As the guest climb higher, expect strong winds and occasional fog. Though relatively short—covering about 4 to 5 km—the steep, rocky sections add an adventurous edge to the experience

Kollukumalai Jeep Safari:
Kolukkumalai is a small tea plantation village located 35 km from Munnar town and is part of the Kurangini mountain ranges. The trek begins from Suriyanelli or Munnar with an off-road jeep drive to the base camp. From there, the trail leads through tea plantations and plantation villages with an uneven ascent. The trek culminates at Kolukkumalai Peak, home to the highest tea estate in the world. From the peak, client can enjoy breathtaking views of Tamil Nadu and Meesapulimala, the second-highest peak in South India.
The entire trek covers a distance of approximately 7 to 12 km round trip, typically taking 4 to 6 hours to complete, depending on pace and weather conditions.

Lockhart Tea Trail
The program includes a guided 3–4 hour hike through the lush tea plantations. As guest walk through the gently sloping fields, they will learn about the different stages of tea cultivation and the various types of tea. During the hike, they’ll have the opportunity to interact with tea plantation workers, gaining insights into their daily routines and way of life. The trail then leads to the village where the workers reside, offering a glimpse into their lifestyle and culture. Following the hike, the tour continues with a visit to the historic tea factory. Here, they can observe the orthodox method of tea processing, still practised using traditional machinery. The factory tour provides a deeper understanding of how different grades of tea are produced and packaged.

Meeshapulimala Trekking
The trek begins with an early morning drive through the lush tea plantations of KDHP, heading toward Silent Valley Estate. From there, we switch to a jeep provided by the Kerala Forest Development Corporation (KFDC), as only their vehicles are permitted to enter this protected zone. The trek takes guest through groves of gum trees and pine plantations before reaching the grasslands, where they may spot some beautiful seasonal waterfalls.
From the grasslands, the trail follows the ridge of the Western Ghats, offering stunning panoramic views of hills and valleys along the way. We will ascend and descend a few hills before reaching the summit.
After a short break, guest will trek back to Silent Valley. The trek ends at Silent Valley, from where they drive back to Munnar. This trek is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts.

Kudumashree Women Empowerment Program
Kudumbashree is a poverty eradication and women empowerment program implemented by the State Poverty Eradication Mission (SPEM) of the Government of Kerala. The name Kudumbashree in Malayalam means "prosperity of the family."
Chendamangalam village, located 22 km north of Cochin, is about a 45-minute drive away. Guests need to arrive around 11:00 AM and take a short 10-minute walk to the venue—an ancestral Tharavadu (traditional family house). Upon arrival, the women of Kudumbashree will warmly welcome them with a garland and chutti (a traditional decorative forehead mark). They'll be refreshed with tender coconut water, followed by a brief introduction and familiarization session. They can enjoy a captivating performance of Thiruvathira, a traditional Kerala dance, followed by a live cooking demonstration. Then, it's time for Sadya—a traditional Kerala feast served on banana leaves. The meal begins with Fish Mappas and Appam as starters, followed by a variety of vegetable curries, rice, papadam and a delicious dessert. After lunch, explore the courtyard and farm, and experience Kudumbashree's activities, including a demonstration of how to wear a traditional saree and dhoti. Guests’ll then take a 10-minute walk through the village to board your vehicle. On the way, stop at a women-run handloom factory operated by a local society of weavers.
