Every year, the Great Rann of Kutch hosts a bustling, vibrant gathering of people who unite to celebrate its culture and heritage in a four-month-long affair in Gujarat – the Rann Utsav<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Great Rann of Kutch is a seemingly unending desert for any observer, spread over 10,000 square kilometres in the state of Gujarat. The Rann of Kutch is situated between the Gulf of Kutch and the mouth of the Indus River. It is a distinctive desert as salt accumulates in its sand. The weather at the Rann of Kutch varies greatly, with scorching heat during the day and cold at night.<\/p>\n

The beginning of winter also brings about the most scenic landscapes in the sandy and rich land of the Rann of Kutch. The Rann Utsav begins in the last week of October and continues till the last week of February, hosting one of the most vibrant and popular festivals in the world.<\/p>\n

The Rann Utsav celebrates the culture and cuisine of the desert dwellers of the Kutch and promotes their handicrafts and art forms. In the middle of the snow-white salt desert, people from all over the world gather to live, laugh, and celebrate Rann Utsav under the scenic skies of winter.<\/p>\n
