Dedicated to Lord Ayyappa, this temple is believed to be more than <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">3000 years old<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. Before getting into the grand celebration of the festival, we should know about the importance of this Pooram. The conference of the gods of neighbouring hamlets with the <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">powerful<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> god, Ayyapah, continues for a week. The renowned Sree Sastha Temple near <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Thrissur<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> gets immense attention in March. From percussion artists, palm readers, toy makers, and other noteworthy vendors to majestic elephants, the village will stay colourful and inviting for the entire week. The valedictory of dipping of the <strong>23<\/strong> deities in the waters concludes the conclave of Gods or \u201c<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Devamela<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201d festive.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Temple management manages the humongous crowd with ease. Five elephants bring <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Lord Sastha<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> out of his place to make him meet the other gods. This event is called \u201c<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Thiruvathira<\/span><\/em> <em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Paruppad<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201d. After visiting the \u201c<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Thaikkattusery<\/span><\/em> <em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Temple<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">,\u201d Lord Sastha will be a spectator for the \u201c<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Peedikaparmbu<\/span><\/em> <em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Temple<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201d elephant race. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Then<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">he visits the \u201c<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Thottipal<\/span><\/em> <em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Pooram<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201d before <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">going back<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> to <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Arattupuzha<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> He receives the idols of other gods at \u201c<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Divine<\/span><\/em> <em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Durbar<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201d. The final two days of the festival will offer you memories for a lifetime.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Decorated tuskers will bring deities <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">of the<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> nearby villages, while the <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">percussion artists<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> rhythmically invite the gentle giants.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Other than the trucks <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">employed to bring<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> elephants, <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">there are no vehicles polluting<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> the herd of humanity. The vibrations of \u201c<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sasthavinte<\/span><\/em> <em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Melam<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201d amid the concordia of the crowd create an unfelt jubilance in people. The caparisoned elephants, along with the \u201c<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Pancharimelam<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201d (ethnic drum ensemble), hold an enormous assembly of percussion artists more than any other Pooram. That is why Arattupuzha Pooram is the <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">mother of all Poorams<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The greatest union of Gods on earth!
