Interestingly, the place of discovery happened to be a seaport like\u00a0<strong>Mahabalipuram<\/strong> in Tamil Nadu, India. Kanchipuram\u2019s silk industry owes its genesis to the import of raw silk from China through Mamallapuram. The Chinese kings had even given Kanchipuram a nickname \u2013 \u201c<strong>Huang-Che<\/strong>\u201d. Post Sangam literature mentions the Chinese \u201c<strong>Zunk<\/strong>\u201d as \u201c<strong>Tungu Naavay<\/strong>\u201d which is a massive Vessel, a Chinese Ship, indeed!<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><a target=\"\" rel=\"\" aria-label=\"\">Kanchipuram<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0was also the ancient trading hub of the Chola Kingdom and China. Look at the right side image of a Chinese king. This statue is present inside the most charming and noteworthy Chola Temple,\u00a0<strong><a target=\"\" rel=\"\" aria-label=\"\">Brihadeeswara Temple<\/a><\/strong>(Perudayar Kovil) or\u00a0<strong>Thanjai Periya Kovil<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0<strong><a>Tanjore<\/a><\/strong>. This is a symbol of great respect for China as their king finds a place in history\u2019s greatest site and era \u2013 The Raja Raja Cholan period where Tamizh flourished in all forms. The greatest monarchs of all time, the legendary king Raja Raja Cholan and his successors had established trading with China. Mamallapuram and Kanchipuram was their meeting point.
