Built over 4 hills at Chadamangalam, Kollam, it is nearly 40 km away from the capital city of Kerala, Trivandrum. Spread over 65 acres, the site offers adventure sports such as rock climbing, trekking, and paintball. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Adventure training sessions are also conducted here, <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">and thus,<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> the Jatayu Nature Park <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">is<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> the first of its kind in Kerala<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">providing the same<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span> <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Cable Car, Virtual Reality Museum and Hele-Taxi are <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">some of<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> the other entertainment options for <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">the<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> visitors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">major attraction of the park<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> is the massive sculpture of the mythical bird Jatayu. It is rapidly gaining attention from travellers. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This sustainable tourism site is built exactly at the <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">point<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> where <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">the<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Jatayu fell dead fighting the demon king Ravana, as <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">said<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> in the Indian epic Ramayana.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> The Jatayu sculpture is 200 feet long, 150 feet wide and 70 feet tall. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">There is also a rainwater harvesting reservoir <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">within<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> the premises with a capacity of <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">holding<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> 15 lakh litres <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">of water<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Another great addition to this initiative is the Siddha Healing centres inside caves within the nature park. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Moonlight dining is another spectacular option, where visitors can dine <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">right under<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> a star-studded <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">moonlit<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> sky.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Rajiv Anchal, a film director, <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">an<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> artist,<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> a <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">humanist and<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> a <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">sculptor, is the one behind <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">the initiation of<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> this <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">huge<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> project.<\/span> <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">His idea was to <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">mix up<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> technology, mythology, nature, wellness and culture to <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">bring up<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> a positive impact on humanity as a whole.<\/span> <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The construction<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> is in its final phase, and it is expected <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">to fully <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">function<\/span> <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">by April 2018<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">For more information, log onto <\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">www.jatayuearthscenter.com<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Finally, the Jatayu Earth Centre Nature Park is open for travellers.
